VIDEO: Police Officers FORCIBLY remove woman from home during COVID CRISIS

Video posted by tenant advocate group People’s Defence Toronto, appears to show police officers counting to 5 before allegedly removing a woman from her apartment. Advocates claim the police broke down her door to get in.

Crescent Town has been the host of a massive COVID-related rent strike, organized in part by Parkdale Organize. Parkdale Organize previously “declared war” on landlords, and stated they would stand between the sheriff and any tenant facing eviction.

Last night, they proved their claims weren’t empty promises

Last night they formed a blockade to protect the “unlawfully evicted neighbour”. Social Media users claim the police returned earlier this morning to execute the arrest.

Tenant advocates are calling on the Mayor and City Councillors to intervene.

The status of the evicted tenant is unknown.
